There are several PDF converters on the market. Which one should you chose??? I am currently in the market for a good PDF converter but I want a value packed program that performs and doesn't drain my wallet to buy.

Rediris- This is the program I will be purchasing soon. I compared all the features and it appears to be the best. This program appears to have the most value for the money including OCR depending on which version you get.
Nuance's PDF Professional Converter version 6 reviewed:
Recently I just purchased Nuance's PDF Professional Converter version 6. I wasn't overly impressed. I never opened the box and I am taking it back to Office Depot now. Nuance's PDF Professional Converter version 6 just was not a bargan for the price. It is a bundle package meaning it "comes with three programs in one." But does it work? I don't know but I am not opening the box and here is why. The converter cost $100, which is a lot of money. The system requirements allow it to work on a lot of different machines however here is the catch. It just doesn't do a lot I want it to do. It will edit, convert, and create PDF's however I don't know if it does OCR and I really doubt it. The box description is terrible and their web site does not give much information. Also they do not offer a trial version so I can test it.
This program allows me to scan to PDF, but I am not sure what all it does. It says JPG's can be converted but I don't know if they are converted into editable text. I need to edit what I have already.
I'd like to try this program but right now I am looking at another program that does more for less. I will review it shortly.
Does Word 7 have a PDF converter? Yes there is a built in PDF converter in Word 7. This is a handy feature I never knew existed. It works seemlessly in Word 7. To convert a file to PDF go to "File" and "Save As." Then save as PDF. It works great and is a feature I just learned Word 7 had.
OpenOffice's PDF converter reviewed: This program is not only a good word processor, it used to even be free but now they want you to buy something, but OpenOffice even has a PDF converter. You can download OpenOffice for free: http://www.openoffice.org
Cosmi's PDF converter reviewed: You can buy this disk at Office Depot or OfficeMax. THROW THE DISK IN THE GARBAGE AFTER YOU INSTALL IT. IT CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE AND THAT IS IT. This PDF converter works well but it is slow and doesn't have a lot of functions. To be honest with you I wouldn't waste your money on any Cosmi software especially when OpenOffice is free.
